Woof,
It’s the Gritty Bytes. Woof, Woof… Judge the book by its cover; it might save your _ _ _. (Fill in the dotted line).
The true inside is indicated by the presented outside cover. So, judge the people by their covers. Their outside speaks to you silently. Sometimes the people wearing a cover love to imagine nobody sees, or is watching, them. That is a weakness to exploit.
Your friends and your boss say not to judge a book by its cover, but everybody knows that generally we may, and do, judge people based on their appearances, behavior, words they choose, and how they care for themselves. We all can very quickly agree, and know, that appearances tell a story; a cover story. So it is up to you to observe someone if you wish to discover the obverse side of a cover that someone put forth to the world.
We all can recognize when someone is insincere and crafting a cover, but we fail to follow through and actually do something about it.
Appearances are also numerous and varied; subtle and conspicuously in your face, others are even seemingly entirely secret. And, generally, one can disguise oneself in almost innumerable ways, but they are all tried and true since the dawn of ages so to speak, so the practice of reading covers is an art and not a science. It can be fun and instructive. It can save you to pay some attention to the covers people wear.
The art gets more difficult when one imagines the alter ego and a fake persona of the person they are about to read the cover of, for an example, a cursory look at the barista in star bucks doesn’t say much because she is wearing the company uniform which is clean and well designed. You would not know if she is neat, sweet, and prompt elsewhere in life. She has to perform for her job. Having seen this proverbial barista off hours you may not even recognize the woman! Yet there are small signs nevertheless.
Our interest is how a person behaves when no one is around, no real seer to see the individual- a fly on the wall if I may.
Even though our proverbial barista is neat at work this makes our job difficult but not impossible. She may be on time and dressed for the job, but if more time is given you might notice her finger nails are frequently not taken care of, or she frequently has an unwashed face. Frequency is what matters in finding out the undercover.
Woof! You might say, ” wait this is too picky”. It’s true it may be picky, but if you must decide whether to be close to this person you may want to do these observations. You might say how could nails and an unwashed face show anything about a person? Here are some potential truths: (1) Her lack of attention to herself indicates she might lack attention elsewhere on the job, (2) This also shows lack of motivation in various other places in life, (3) Shows she maybe feeling unwell, (4) It is an indicator that she may be slow at her job, and uninterested in the job. Know other reasons? This needs to be observed in real life. There are anomalies when this analysis will breakdown, but it is safe to use these methods to see if the person you are dealing with is the real person or a person with a cover.
